READING, Pa. -- FC Reading Revolution, in the second year in the NPSL, has acquired a new training facility in their home of Reading, PA. The former Grand Slam Sports Complex is now re-named as the GAMEFACE Sports Complex where all 17 FC Revolution youth soccer teams from under 9 through the NPSL Men’s team will call their home.
“We had been renting the complex for the last four winters,” said owner Mike Moyer. “When the opportunity came for my partner, Eric Puls and I to take over, we didn’t hesitate.”
The complex now houses the offices of FC Revolution as well as their tryouts, speed & conditioning and other training activities. The surrounding sports leagues and teams get a lot of use out of the GAMEFACE Sports Complex which include, but are not limited to, summer day camps, winter instructional academies, shooting and goalkeeper clinics, training for field hockey, dek hockey, roller hockey, futsal tournaments as well as surrounding youth clubs and indoor leagues open to everyone. The Reading Express professional Arena Football team will continue to utilize the facility. There is talk of expansion plans for the complex as far as adding outdoor training areas as well.
The complex will also host the NPSL post game parties. The FC Reading Revolution holds their home games at Albright College’s state-of-the-art Shirk Stadium which is a very practical five minute drive from the complex.
“We are very excited to call this our home, said Moyer. “We are extremely excited for the 2010 NPSL season and the new complex will help us with our training and marketing of the team. “
As the league’s youngest team in 2009 and coming off a 3-6-1 record, the Revolution were and still are continuously improving. Hopefully the new complex will assist the team in constantly improving the skills of the NPSL players as well as other Reading, PA sports enthusiasts.
