ST. PAUL, Minn. -- As a former NPSL player, Tim Haselberger knows firsthand the strength of the NPSL. Now he is taking his knowledge of the game and league to the front office as founder/owner of Minnesota Kings FC. Kings FC will be joining the NPSL for their first season as a part of the highly competitive Midwest Conference. Based in St. Paul Minnesota, Haselberger founded the club in order to provide role-models for the community, as well as develop the youth of Minnesota within a professionally run organization.
Kings FC will be partnering with already established youth clubs, while they develop their own youth system. Specifically, the club's main goal is to give all soccer players within the state the chance to work their way up the ranks to the ultimate goal of playing for the Kings FC NPSL team. “We are not re-inventing the wheel. Minnesota has extremely solid programs throughout, we are just refining existing ideas and implementing them into a professionally run, youth to professional program that all have an opportunity to participate in.” Haselberger said.
To better serve the community, Kings FC has decided against using one specific home stadium. They will be traveling to give different youth clubs the opportunity to see high quality soccer. “We want to provide young soccer players in Minnesota with positive role-models, so we go to where clubs have expressed interest,” Haselberger explained.
While youth development and community outreach are among the main goals of the organization, Kings FC promises to assemble a team of highly competitive NPSL veterans and undiscovered talent. Tim Haselberger's experience within the NPSL has given him the necessary skills to lead Minnesota Kings FC to a successful season while staying focused on the youth in the community.
