BOSTON, Mass. -- A former NASL team is resurrected for the 2010 NPSL season as the Boston Tea Men join the league’s Atlantic Conference in the Northeast Region.
The Boston Tea Men is a reincarnation of the former New England Tea Men, who played in the NASL from 1978-1980 and still have a strong recognition in the Boston soccer community.
The new Tea Men will be coached by Tony Martone, who is one of the winningest coaches in Division II history. Martone has coached at Merrimack College for 28 years, amassing a 273-230-40 record placing him at 11th overall on the Division II all time win list.
The Boston Tea Men will provide an opportunity for talented high school and college players to compete at a high level throughout the summer. Tryouts will be held March 14 at 4 PM at Merrimack College located in North Andover, MA.
